Arne Jacobsen designed the Egg for the the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in 1958. This smooth, organically shaped easy chair has since become synonymous with Danish furniture. Due to its one of a kind shape, the Egg chair give the user privacy while being ideal for lounge and waiting areas as well as the home. The egg’s shell is padded with cold foam, covered with many different types of fabric or leather, and rests on a star-shaped aluminium base.The shell itself is made of fiberglass reinforced polyurethane foam. For comfort and versatility, the Egg has a fully adjustable tilt and swivel, which can be adjusted to the weight of every user. The base consists of a satin-polished, welded steel tube and a 4-star base in injection molded aluminium.
